mmmMember Food Fridays: The Mouse Trap

The Mouse Trap is downtown Midland’s newest foodie paradise and it has been a very welcomed addition to our local shops!

The owners Sarah Kestle and Steve Grise are a wife and husband team who have a passion for great cheese and had an idea for a new challenge and adventure! Moving to the area from the GTA in 2021, they spent a lot of their time at first enjoying the beautiful Georgian Bay environment; Kestle noticed something missing from the downtown street, a place to buy great cheese!

When they purchased the building originally, they intended to rent the current space that houses The Mouse Trap but decided to pursue the idea of having a cheese shop to compliment Midland’s already amazing shops. Kestle retired from  the insurance industry and started a new career as a cheese shop owner in downtown Midland with her husband!

The Mouse Trap has a wide variety of local cheeses and international cheeses. They also sell crackers, characuterie boards, frozen pizzas from Toronto’s Piano Piano and so much more!

The Mouse Trap is located at 258 King St in downtown Midland and it’s open Tuesday – Saturday 11am to 5:30pm and Sundays 11am to 4pm!

Now for Chamber employee recommendations:

Jenna loves that they have cheese curds – delicious poutines are now available at home!

Shelley loves the Apple Cider flavoured cheese she’s had before and the Cheese Crisp crackers that they also sell!
