BACKSTAGE PASS: Graffiti Art

Impeccable customer service is one reason behind a Midland business’ longevity.

“I believe people like to patronize our business because they like to shop locally and support small businesses,” explains Graffiti Art co-owner Karianne Copeland.

“I also believe they know they will be treated fairly and will receive excellent customer service and value.”

Graffiti Art was founded as an embroidery business in 1992 with Karianne and her husband Brad purchasing it in 2005.

Four years later when Karianne’s father retired, they purchased his screen-printing business and brought it under the Graffiti Art umbrella.

“Since then, we have grown the business to offer embroidery, screen printing, promotional products, dye-sublimation and digital printing,” Copeland says, noting most of the work is done onsite.

“Recently, we physically divided the retail store and the custom promotional product division into two separate units, moving the custom promotional products to the back unit of our building and renaming the retail store Windswept Northern Lifestyle.”

Graffiti Art offers a full-service apparel decorating and promotional product solution.

“We are proud to serve customers across Canada,” Copeland says. “We also have a full retail store selling Georgian Bay inspired clothing, pyjamas, art (by local artisans), home décor and gifts.”

Copeland says Graffiti Art also strives to be a community leader when it comes to giving back.

They sponsor local sports teams and leagues, donate to various local charities, support the Chigamik family Christmas dinner campaign every year and donate items to various fundraising campaigns.

“We are very committed to the community and love to give back,” she says. “We live in the community so we are very committed to being active in it by volunteering on various boards, belonging to networking groups and we are committed to serving our neighbours as best we can.”
