Marsh by Moonlight Paddle Series @ Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

Enjoy a unique guided canoe tour through the sparkling moonlit waters of the Wye Marsh.  

The Marsh by Moonlight Paddle Series features a guided voyageur style canoe tour through the sparkling moonlight waters of the Wye Marsh. Twinkling voyageur canoes and boardwalk, night noises, and Bannock roasted over the open fire accompanied with a hot drink will make for an unforgettable night!

Connect with nature and experience the Wye Marsh in a way that not many people have the opportunity to!

  • Where: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
  • When: 6:30 -8:30 pm on September 29 & 30 and October 6 & 7, 2023
  • How Much: $75.00 per participant. Includes all equipment and a gift to take home.
  • Who: Ages 13+. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dress for the weather – this program will run rain or shine!

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for all Canadians to commemorate the history and legacy of the residential school system. It’s a day to honour the resilience, dignity, and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors and remember the children who never came home.

 

An opportunity for learning and reflection: Online and in-person
Sainte-Marie among the Hurons invites you to join us for a journey of self-reflection, observing, learning from, and connecting with Indigenous speakers and cultural specialists, in the spirit of education and awareness about the pathway to truth and reconciliation.  You can join us in person on the historic site for a day of commemoration, or you can connect with us online for free virtual learning.

John Prine is widely cited as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation, Prine was known for humorous lyrics about love, life, and current events, as well as his serious songs with social commentary and songs that recollect sometimes melancholy tales from his life.

The Hometown Harvest Festival is back at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons Thanksgiving Weekend. Come celebrate the abundance of the fall season! Put on a cozy sweater and shop our artisan market with more than 40 local vendors. Grab a coffee in our gift shop, then explore the site to take part in take-home crafts, try hands-on activities, meet our heritage breed animals, learn about the three sisters’ harvest, and enjoy historical presentations.

Dates and times:

  • Saturday, October 7 & Sunday, October 8
  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets:

  • $12 a person, taxes included – children five and under are free
  • No registration required
  • Free entry for Indigenous persons with valid ID
  • A support person accompanying a paying customer with disabilities gets in for free
  • Free entry to members of the Canadian Armed Forces with valid ID
