Join us for a free educational webinar on invasive species hosted by the Southern Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce and Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA). Invasive species are a threat to the environment and economy of local communities. This webinar will focus on learning about some of the most significant invaders in the Severn Sound/ southeastern Georgian Bay area and how you can help to fight against them.
Overview of presentation:
A virtual session that provides an introduction to invasive species. The session would cover the following topics:
– Introduction to SSEA
– What are invasive species?
– Common invasive species in the Severn Sound area
– Interesting invasive species (i.e. Wild pigs, sea lampreys, etc…)
– How to prevent invasive species, including identifying the major routes of spread
– How to report

Tamara graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Biological Science and went on to complete her graduate studies at Niagara College in ecosystem restoration. Tamara is the SSEA Invasive Species Program Coordinator and is passionate about working with the community to manage invasive species.
