If someone you know has died by suicide, you are not alone. The fact that someone died by suicide does not diminish our right and need to celebrate their lives and accomplishments.

Saturday, November 19 is Survivor Day, a day when those affected by suicide loss gather at events around the world to gain understanding and find comfort in the knowledge that they are not alone.

Waypoint is honoured to host Survivor Day with a screening Life Journeys: Reclaiming Life after Loss, a new documentary produced by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention that traces the grief and healing journey that follows a suicide loss over time. Drawing on stories and insights from long-term loss survivors, the film shows us that through resilience and support we can achieve hope and understanding in our lives while celebrating the lives of those we lost.

Following the film screening, Glenn Robitaille, Director of Ethics and Spiritual Care will lead the participants in a facilitated discussion focused on the film and finding hope and understanding after a suicide loss.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. with the film beginning at 1 p.m.
