July 7 – The Fretless

Four ferocious players, masterful composition, and a genre-bending sound — Juno award-winning The Fretless is a Canadian quartet that has firmly taken its place on the map to a progressive form of “trad”.

July 14 – collectif9

Juno-nominated Montreal string nonet collectif9 performs “with an infectious energy and vigour that grabs an audience’s attention” -The WholeNote.

July 25 – Lafayette String Quartet & James Campbell

Passionate, riveting, and with flawless ensemble. Joined by The Festival of the Sound’s very own James Campbell.

July 28 – Festival of the Sound Ensemble

Faces of the Future featuring- Sylva Gelber Music Foundation award winners Eva Aronian (violin), Carson Becke (piano), Isaac Chalk (viola), and Ariane Brisson (flute)

Eight wonderful Canadian cellists celebrate the deep and powerful voice of their instrument and let their hair down in an eclectic program, taking you from Vivaldi to Villa Lobos, from Bach to Beatles!
