Connla are an exciting new band with strong traditional roots as well as influences from across the globe. Their sensitive and innovative arrangements of traditional and modern folk songs and tunes have earned them praise across the folk community. This group is a full mix of musical knowledge, training and performance experience unheard of in a group this young.

More about Connla:

– Connla hail from the cities of Armagh and Derry: Ciara McCafferty (vocals), Ciaran Carlin (whistles), Paul Starrett (guitar), and siblings Emer and Conor Mallon on harp and uilleann pipes.

–  Besides being thoroughly talented musicians, each shares the fact that they have a full blend of formal and traditional training in Irish music.

– All members of Connla are teachers, with deep educational backgrounds in music.

– This band is scoring instant international raves due to a self-titled ep they introduced a year ago. Now comes their first full album, River Waiting.
