Heppner’s performances on the opera stage with the world’s leading orchestras, in the most prestigious recital venues – including Carnegie Hall and the Met – have set new standards. Born in British Columbia, Heppner first gained national attention in 1979, as the winner of the CBC Talent Festival. He has since won Grammy Awards and Juno Awards. In 2002, Ben was named an Officer of the Order of Canada.
