Martyrs’ Shrine, located right across the street, is the only National Shrine in Canada located outside the province of Québec. It honours the lives of St. Jean de Brébeuf, and his companions, who were martyred in the 17th century while serving the Wendat. It welcomes religious pilgrims of all faiths and ethnicities, as well as non-denominational visitors.
