“I have been with the Board for four years.  It has given me a great opportunity to meet many interesting people in the community and learn about their businesses and organizations.  I have come to realize the importance and enjoy the charm and natural beauty of Southern Georgian Bay while seeing growing opportunities for all.  I have lived in Midland for 17 years with my wife and two daughters.  Since 2016 I have managed Superior Shredding, a mobile document shredding company out of Penetanguishene.  I look forward to continuing my role on the Board as well as in the community.”

“I am very proud to be a member of the SGB Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Many years ago I enjoyed holding the position of Manager of the Tottenham & District Chamber of Commerce where I came to understand the very important role of a community Chamber of Commerce especially for the businesses it serves. After umpteen successful years operating a not-for-profit business organization, in addition to owning a small business, I am the Executive Director of Community Reach North Simcoe. Camille Girard-Ruel

Superintendent, Georgian Bay Islands National Park & Beausoleil Island National Historic Site

Camille Girard-Ruel is a proud community member and happy to serve her community as Park Superintendent for Georgian Bay Islands National Park. She’s a francophone, mother of three active young kids, an artist, and enjoys discovering all that Georgian Bay has to offer. She moved from Gatineau 8 years ago with her husband William and has successfully planted strong roots in the business community. She also serves on the Board of the Culture Alliance in the Heart of Georgian Bay. She enjoys working with this active Board to help represent parks and recreation, tourism attractions, and the hospitality industry locally.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin Mateff

Owner, Midland Home Hardware Building Centre 

Kevin has been in the building supply industry for 34 years, starting his career with Beaver Lumber in 1987.  He has held many positions over the years with both Beaver Lumber and Home Hardware.  In 2007, he and his twin brother Keith became dealer/owners of the Midland Home Hardware Building Centre. 

Kevin has been a long-time member of the Chamber and has served on the board of directors for the last five years.   He continues to support the Chamber because he likes to be involved in the community and also feels the Chamber has supported his business over the years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kirk McNabb

Owner, The Boathouse Eatery

“My name is Kirk McNabb and I have co-owned the Boathouse Eatery since 2012.  Over the last 9 years, the location has seen numerous renovations including a new kitchen, patio expansion and ice cream store.  Before purchasing the boathouse in 2012, I was a district manager for several McDonald’s restaurants. 

I joined the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2013 and I have enjoyed being part of this great group!”

Will Baird

General Manager, Huronia Historical Parks

Will Baird is the General Manager of Huronia Historical Parks, which operates Discovery Harbour & Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons. Will has over 25 years of experience in the tourism industry and has worked throughout the province. Will and his family relocated to Midland in 2015 and he has been actively working to expand the reach and involvement of Huronia Historical Parks in the community through driving transformational change and expanding partnerships.
