Media Release: Haunted Harbour Event

October 15, 2014

Media Release – for immediate release

Frightfully good fun awaits at Discovery Harbour’s

“Haunted Harbour” event

Now in its sixth great year, Discovery Harbour’s popular “Haunted Harbour” Hallowe’en event returns the evenings of October 23-24-25 promising a spooky good time for the entire family.

This year’s eerie event boasts many new features plus some extra levels of “scary”.  Watch out for the “wicked witches” provided by the Women’s Hockey Team from Laurentian University, Orillia campus. Talented artist Mabel Moon will delight little folks with her creative face painting, and visitors can catch historic buildings decorated with “Boxtrolls” and swamp monster themes.  The famous Haunted House feature, complete with a chilling maze (parental discretion is advised) will be re-located near the Keating House, and scary storytelling will be shared in Discovery Harbour’s new H.M.S. Tecumseth Centre.

Returning features will include candlelit paths and ghostly displays, costumed staff, “Rockin’ Grandma and Grandpa”, lots of skeletons, and a spirited graveyard.  This year, Captain Roberts’ Table restaurant will provide light refreshments and hot and cold drinks for sale on its waterside patio.

The “Haunted Harbour” Hallowe’en event is at Discovery Harbour, Penetanguishene Thursday October 23th, Friday October 24th, and Saturday October 25th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Admission is $7.00 per person with a non-perishable food item which will be donated to the local food bank.  Children ages 5 and under are free.  For further information call (705) 526-7838 or visit www.hhp.on.ca
