Georgian College receives $25,000 from Huronia Alarm & Fire Security Inc.

Head: Georgian College receives $25,000 from Huronia Alarm & Fire Security Inc.
Body: Georgian College’s John Di Poce South Georgian Bay Campus, has received a $25,000 donation from Huronia Alarm & Fire Security Inc., a local Collingwood business that has been an active participant in community based initiatives for over 40 years.
“Our $25,000 donation to Georgian College will be delivered to the school over the next five years,” said Rob Thornburn Jr., Executive Vice President of Huronia. “This is our way of helping our community and surrounding communities thrive by being able to provide education and training for our citizens in careers that are in high demand in Southern Georgian Bay.”
Thorburn went on to say, “whether it’s a full-time postsecondary program, a skills upgrading course, continuing education or ongoing training in an existing career – being able to stay local and receive world-class education means that the people who live and work in the surrounding areas can do that in a community they love and that they call home; it creates stronger ties to this great community.”
The John Di Poce South Georgian Bay Campus, located in Collingwood, features more 20,000 square feet of multi-function classrooms, a community room, state-of-the-art computer labs and a student lounge.
